I bought this for it's portability and self-ignition. We wanted a stove small enough to take in our luggage on a plane, yet something which used a readily available inexpensive fuel source (since we couldn't take that on the plane). The self-ignition was a must for me..I was tired of burning my fingers on matches getting our trusty 31 year old Coleman white gas stove going while the wind was blowing.
This worked great on our most recent camping trip. It lit like a champ (even in the rain and wind) and quickly boiled a liter of water. As another poster mentioned, you can also turn this stove down very low to maintain a simmer. We had the stove set up on a camp table, and it seemed reasonably stable. If our kids were still youngsters, I'd be a little worried about using it near them, as it seems that it wouldn't be hard to knock it over, especially if you had a large pot on the burner.
Our stove did get a dent in it in our soft-sided luggage on the way back home, but it still works fine. I wish that it came with a hard-shelled packing case rather than the fabric bag.

Nice, small, lightweight, propane stove that SIMMERS. You can select a really low flame and let your soups and stews simmer away at low heat. What more does one need to know?

The one shipped is not the one in the picture. Bummer because I wanted the one in the picture because it has 3 "arms" for holding the pot and looks smaller. The unit I got has 4 "arms" holding the pot and wider than the one in the picture.
I have owned Coleman and Target "Greatland" stoves, this stove burns the same no difference at all. I bought this stove specifically for the automatic ignition, it works great, reliable.
I bought stove in preperation for hurrican season. During Hurricane Wilma I lost power for 10 days, all I had was a Coleman multi-fuel stove. My wife complained everytime I fired it up because the house would smell like burnt white-gas. Even moving outside the smell would still come in the window.
It comes with a black bag that is very handy, it has a draw cord from the top of the bag to the bottom. You can put the stove with the fuel cannister and base attached in the bag and wear it over your shoulder leaving both hands free to carry a cooler. It's a true grab and go stove.
I would have given it 5 stars if they sent me the one in the picture.
