This little heater is great..I work in an office in my unheated Garage and running electric heaters is far to expensive...This little heater get VERY hot..it seems to get as hot as the BlackCat .It gets so hot its hard to heep your hands over the elemnt for any extended period!!....but is stingier on propane use..It can run almost 2 full days using on one propane bottle thats about $6 a week or $24 a month..running an electric heater would be 5X times the cost.......obviously not for heating large rooms but for a taking the edge off a cold work place its ideal ...the stand makes it very stable..the product gives off more of an initial odor than the blackcat but this goes aways after about an hour after first use..I only wish I could turn the heat to a lower setting!!...no kidding!!... its a powerfull unit..dont hesitate..Coleman always provides great value in their products and this is no exception!! great job!

I am glad I bought this before our camping trip in September. Nights were already getting cold and this was a good added warmth to the tent. The first night, I was worried about leaving it on as we went to sleep and kept waking up to check on it. The rest of the trip - no worries, slept like a baby. It's great if you don't have kids who might tip it over. Even though the instructions say not to leave it on through the night, I did and I was fine. I did use the tip of others to first light it and let it burn out in the open air for 30-60 minutes before you light it in an enclosed area as the factory fumes are quite nasty. Also, be careful with it inside your tent as I by accident let a flap of the tent touch it and it made a hole instantly. Nothing serious that a patch couldn't fix, but I will be careful next time. In general - great product, maybe my next one will be the more expensive version that you can point in various directions, but for now this will do.

Loved the performance of the heater. Easy to use and kept us warm all night.

We purchased the heater while camping at high altitude in a pop-top camper when the temperature started reaching near-freezing a night. It is compact, easy to light and small enough to fit into small tents and/or spaces. But it was not adequate for the space in the Coleman camper.
It did take the edge off the cold, perhaps warming the interior 5 degrees or so, but never made the camper warm. We still required warm clothing and even a blanket around our knees/laps if we wanted to be able to sit up and read or talk.
It would probably work better for a small tent, but it simply does not put out much heat. You can warm your hands over it, if you are careful.
Next time I would purchase something with a higher BTU output.

For the most part, the heater was easy to use, it did go for about 14 hours on one propane tank and was easy to light. It also stood sturdy on its own inside the tent BUT I did not think that it had heated my tent enough. We were still cold.
