You will have to take this review with a grain of salt. I purchased this to carry in the back of my SUV. I have not, and probably never will use it as a "sleeping bag". It is replacing a Coleman bag that I had for many years ( probably more than 30 ) - and I never had to use it other than to spread out in the back when my dogs were accompanying me in the SUV. I chose this bag based on the reviews and the fact that the outside is canvas and inside is flannel. The compression straps are a nice feature, and I'm sure most people would appreciate the included storage bag. The only disappointment I found was that "full zipper" means the zipper goes the full length - but not the width at the bottom. On the Coleman the zipper went across the width at the bottom as well - that made washing much easier. I am happy with this purchase for my intended use.

This is the first "subfreezing rated" bag I found that is all cotton interior-liner/exterior: the outside is 100% cotton canvas, the inside liner is 100% cotton flannel. There's something beautiful about cotton, compared to polyester--it's way more comfortable and personal, like sleeping with one of grandma's homemade quilts surrounding you. Polyester is like sleeping in a large trash bag. Love this one!

I just bought two of these sleeping bags and was pleasantly surprised when I opened the boxes and discovered that they came in a "beautiful zippered duffle bag". The duffle bag is a heavy weight cotton canvas the same as the cover on the sleeping bag. The linings are the old fashioned cotton flannel; soft & warm.

These bags offer a no-cold spot double-layering and for warm nights a 2-way zipper to open at the top or your feet.

They are even machine washable!

I brought this tent for my Boy Scout group and it worked out pretty well. It's a nice size tent and hold about two teenagers Scouts or three cub Scouts. The only problem I had is that the back part of the tent can get wet if you're not careful about keeping the flap zipped up.



We had a little rain come down and the tent got a little wet from the rain because the Scouts had the back flap down to cool of the tent.



Other then that it's a good tent to have.

I have only used this tent once for a weekend trip on the Northern CA coast. Weather was in the 40-50's with fog and the ground was damp. Tent held up well and was especially easy to set-up and take down. We had very light rain/dense fog and stayed dry. Easily fit a double air mattress and backpacks. The tent floor measures 7 feet, but if you sleep on an air mattress (which raises you a few inches off the tent floor) you may have problems if you're over 5'8" because the sides are sloped. I'm 5'7" and was on an air mattress and I barely fit without having either my head or feet pushing against the tent sides. Overall: good basic car camping tent, will trust it for fair/moderate weather, came with a handy carry case, and the price was great.

Coleman claims this bag will keep you warm at 10F.



I slept in this sleeping bag once at 50F. (That's 50F measured on a thermometer. Not guessed at.) Even wearing long johns and a sweatsuit I was a bit cold. In the middle of the night I got up and put on a pair of insulated overalls. Then I slept warm. I'm an old man and pretty sensitive to the cold. Maybe a younger, fitter person would have been warm enough. But, I'd warn anyone going camping in below freezing weather to test this bag ahead of time. You could avoid an awful night.



On the plus side, there's plenty of room in the bag. And the bag handles moisture very nicely.



Finally, the bag is well constructed and claims to be washable. (I've had bad experiences trying to wash down filled items. Polyester fill seems to wash OK.)



I'm not sure if I'd buy another one.

I bought this sleeping bag a year ago for a camping trip that my best friend and I go on every summer in the Pacific Northwest. I am perpetually cold just about everywhere I go, so I wanted a bag that would keep me warm no matter where we camped at. I am also allergic to down feathers, so I needed something with a synthetic fill. This bag sure did the trick on all counts! It is super warm and the lining is so soft and snugly that I felt like I was sleeping in my own bed. It kept me more than warm on the Washington coast. The bag does have a separate zip-off foot vent at the bottom, but I never needed to use it. When we went up to the campground at Crater Lake, it took this sleeping bag and another sleeping bag to keep me warm in the near-freezing night time temperatures. (I'm assuming that, since I'm cold all the time, that just this one sleeping bag would do the trick for a normal person.) The drawstring hood and wind baffles at the top were especially nice for keeping me snug as a bug in a tent in on even the coldest nights. I'm convinced that I would have been an ice cube in any other bag, and am so happy I decided to purchase this one! (As was mentioned by another reviewer, the bag is way too big to take on a backpacking trip, but it's perfect for your standard drive-in camping trip.) Love it! Worth the $$.

This is our second of these bags, purchased for our son.

Is it roomy? I'm 6'1" 300-325 lbs.; he's 6'2" 275 lbs. Fits great.

Is it warm? Certainly within the ranges of usual camping, even in the mountains of Northern California, it does the job. Neither of us has used one in sub-zero temperatures as yet, though.

Is it comfortable? The lining material is great, and there's just enough, but not too much taper to the bag, so that your feet don't feel bound up together.

Any other conveniences? Yes. The pocket built into the bag is a great place for me to store my glasses in their case, along with a small flashlight, keeping them handy for any nocturnal excursions you may find necessary.

Any drawbacks? Minor one: replace the clasp on the drawstring of the stuff sack - it's not sufficiently strong to cinch the bag closed reliably.

The Coleman Oversized Sleeping Bag is big, warm and comfortable. Plenty of room inside if you move while you sleep. This purchase was for my son who is a Boy Scout and he has used the bag 3 times while camping during this past winter. He likes to use it when his friends sleep over and always gives up his bed so he can sleep in the bag. He says it's that comfortable!

The bag is too large and heavy to use if you are backpacking, but it is the best I have seen for a camping trip. I highly recommend this bag for kids and adults who need a larger sleeping bag.

The item description isn't exactly accurate. This is a VERY light-weight fleece, don't expect much warmth from it, and don't expect it to wash well. The Gamecocks emblem is cheesy looking, nothing like the picture shows. I have since seen this locally at sports stores and it sells for almost half the price sold here. I would NOT recommend this to anyone wanting a quality fleece.
