Unique design innovations, like our exo-skeleton frame and gated carabiners make this ultra-light tent extra strong and easy to set up. Awesome weight to space ratio provides comfortable interior for 2 people without sacrificing carry weight Airflow is maximized through multiple vents - one in the roof, vestibule end, and along each side - and the high/low venting door to minimize condensation which is interent in single wall tents. Strategic placement of vents, both high and low, draw cool dry air in at the bottom and push warm moist air out at the peak for maximum comfort Gated carabiners and locking end tips on the poles, work like shock absorbers in wind - allowing room for the tent body and frame to flex independently, while preventing the tips from popping out. Tent body is lightweight 40D ripstop nylon with a more durable 70D nylon floor and no-see-um mesh to keep out tiny insects Optional accessories include a Floor Saver - Rectangular Small, and Gear Loft - Universal Family Style

"Lightweight, REALLY EASY to setup, a bit stuff in hot weather" 2010-03-04
By N. P. Ladieu (Pittsburgh, PA United States)
Great solo tent for someone who likes a bit more room.

This tent is so ridiculously easy to setup. You can have it up in less than 2 minutes.

I like the area outside the tent to put your gear and keep it dry. Nice place to keep your boots and what not outside the tent but under shelter.

Only pro is my old tent I could remove the fly on summer nights and it made for a much cooler sleeping, it can be a bit stuffy in this tent in the summer even with all the vents open.

Overall it is a good buy and it is very light and compact. I sleep in here with my 2 dogs. One 95 pound malamute and 1 50 pound husky.

It is a bit short for me at 6'4" so I have to sleep at a bit of an angle.

I have used this tent with my wife on a few tents, it is workable, but not optimal for 2 people.

"Great Tent, with a word of advise." 2009-12-21
By M. Claude (Knoxville, TN, USA)
I have been backpacking the Great Smoky Mountains for 9 years now and have been through every imaginable hiking condition. You never know what you will run into while hiking anywhere for that matter. I have had several small 2 men backpacking tents from several brands and wanted to find a light weight, strong tent big enough for 2 and some gear.

I found it in the Zeus 2 Classic. We hiked up in the rain last weekend and had to pitch this tent for the first time in a downpour. I was worried that it would let the water through as we set it up. Well there was no time for that since me and my wife Brooke set the tent up in under 2 minutes, vestibule, stakes and all. It rained all day and all night and turned into a very heavy wet snow, ending in about an inch or so. Not once did it leak during the whole time, and it held the extra weight of the snow well. Back in the day they used to say "never touch the side of your tent while raining; it will let the rain in because you will disturb the seal." Not true with this tent. My sleeping bag touched the side of the tent all night and not a drop of rain came in. We also had plenty of room for our extra clothes in the tent and other items. The vestibule is not massive, but it held two pairs of boots, our wet rain gear and still had room for a backpack if needed.

I cut out a footprint for this tent out of 4 mil plastic, just to be safe in case of sticks and rocks. I am fanatic about that kind of thing and did not want to damage the floor. The floor material is just a little bit thicker then the wall fabric, so a footprint or "ground tarp" may be a good idea, although my friends tents have the same material for their floor and never used a foot print...ever, without incident.

The tent has 6 vents. A small one in the front of the vestibule, one on each of the sides of the tent that run the length and are covered by a small rain fly that can be staked. There is an additional vent in the roof on the back side to allow airflow through the high low airflow system. A small vent that can be closed in the bottom of the main door inside the vestibule and a large mesh area in the door that cannot be closed to allow air from the front vestibule vent to circulate. They say that an adult will breathe out about a pint of water in a night, so with two adults you have about a quart of water to get rid of. It was damp, cold and raining/snowing on our first night with this tent, and when we woke in the morning there was a decent amount of water on the inside walls of the tent. It was a manageable amount of water with a few drips coming of the roof area onto the sleeping bags. But I would not hold this against the tent because everyone's tents, some very expensive $400-500 tents with a true double wall rain fly had large amounts of condensation inside their tents as well. It was no more or no less than everyone else, so I would have to say it was one of the worse conditions we could have put this tent in and it held up very well under these conditions without excessive water build up.

The vestibule zipper does get caught occasionally when you open or close the flap, but after using it for a while, I found it is not a design flaw, but human error in learning how to open the fly.

The poles are light and strong, the clip construction is so simple to use as you set up the tent and the weight is minimal.

Packable weight: 4lbs 3 oz (including everything in the package: all stakes tent and poles. The minimum weight stated can only be achieved leaving the stakes home, which would not allow you to stake out the vestibule.

So in conclusion, an excellent buy, whether you are a minimalist looking for room for two or even soloist who wants a little more room, without the extra weight, this tent is a steal.

 "Apollo 2" 2009-12-09
By Lorne W. Fisher (Upstate NY)
I actually do not have the zeus2, the difference between the zeus and apollo is the apollo uses those little plastic clips on the poles but the zeus uses large carabiners, otherwise the two are the same. I bought this tent specifically for backpacking and zero/ subzero camping. I have not yet used this tent in other than very cold conditions thus far. I did notice some condensation on the inside of the tent in the morning so my guess is that it is impossible to fix this completely. That said, what I found was not much and it was actually in the form of frost - so I wasn't worried about any drips or leaks - I was able to wipe it all off with a sock and forget about it so, no biggie. I would definitely recommend this tent or the zeus for extremely cold weather as setup is easy even with frozen-solid fingers and it is free standing and holds up well in wind. I also had no problems with leaks which can sometimes be a concern in several feet of snow. I had a slight issue with length as I am 6'2" but I expected this with any solo tent ( I know this is technically a two person tent but in the real world, it's a roomy solo). Another plus is that it has enough room to cook inside if the wind is just way too fierce. Honestly, you gotta research and make your own choice though...

 "Lightweight 1 1/2 man tent" 2009-12-09
By E. L. Green (San Jose, CA, United States)
Pros:

1. Easy to set up -- lay out tent, peg out corners, slip poles into corners and clip the tent to them, peg out vestibule, peg out side flies, you're done.

2. Very roomy for a single person, can sit up, change clothes, etc. with no problem

3. Weighs only 4 pounds, much lighter than typical for a 2-man tent.

4. Weather-tight. As long as you've seam-sealed it properly, you won't get wet from water seeping through the tent. (Condensation is a different story but see below).

5. Handles wind well for a fairly tall tent, thanks to the extra side reinforcement from the side fly guyouts. It'll shake rattle and roll a bit in really strong gusts but won't collapse.

Cons:

1. It's a single-wall tent. As with all single-wall tents, it condenses. Condensation can be reduced by a) sleeping with your face (where most moisture comes out) near the mesh door, b) keeping the front rain fly open unless it's actually raining, c) keeping all vents open and the side flies as high as you can (I extended the lines to them so that they were always well above ground). Even then you'll still have condensation, it's the nature of a single-wall tent. Just don't brush against the walls (it's a huge tent so that's easy) and you're fine.

2. It's not really a 2-man tent unless the two people are *very* intimate (as in, boyfriend/girlfriend sleeping with interzipped sleeping bags!).

3. It's sort of short. I'm 5'11" and it's only barely long enough for me. If you're longer, your feet will be poking out the front door!

I've moved on to lighter single-wall tarp-tents from cottage vendors such as Tarptent or Six Moon Designs for backpacking, but this is still a favorite car-camping tent for dry areas (deserts) where condensation is not a problem and ease of setup and wind resistance is of concern. Tarps are pretty darn breezy when that wind starts howling!

 "Great Light tent" 2009-11-22
By Mark Anderson
I set this tent up in 90 seconds the first time. All the seams are factory sealed and taped. Plenty of room inside and quite comfortable. Found a cloth/aluminum tarp for a ground cloth online. The silver side up reflects your body heat back into the tent. Got this tent for my Bug-Out backpack. It is so light you cant feel it in your pack.(Large military alice-pack)The vents are huge and the roof vent is large with a nice rain cover on it. Guyed out the side vents and there is plenty of ventilation, Condensation was not a problem. Buy this Tent!
