I have the red marker light and clip it on the dogs collar at the back of his neck. At night I can let my dog out in the yard and see where he is. They stay in place and upright. Have used the kind that hang on collars but usually the dogs head interferes with the light. This does not. Last a long time and convenient and inexpensive.

These are some neat little marking lights. They come in colours of green, amber, and red. You can also purchase them in a set of two (2), at least I was able to. These lights are excellent for marking your tent perimeter or such and are quite bright. Usage for these lights are only limited to the imagination. I use some to help light up my bicyle when riding at night. The batteries, surprising last a very long time, as I once found out after forgetting to turn them off one morning and then noticed them on the next evening and not remembering turning them off/on. The connecting devices are also quite handy. I do recommend remembering to turn them off when not in use. Quite useful and well worth the money.

.... not a flashlight or lantern of some sort. No, you're not going to be able to read by this tiny single-LED light. What these marker lights are great for is precisely that: marking people, pets and objects you want to be able to locate in the dark. There is no spike on this item. There is instead a little clothespin-type clamp (and tiny tie-ring) that allows you to easily affix them to backpacks, tent peaks and guylines, your dog's collar or kids' beltloops. We use them to mark the stakes of our mess fly, so at night members of our party don't trip on the staked guylines, or worse, like stepping on a stake in bare feet. (Ouch!) In the woods, clip a few to the tops of your tents to help find your way "home" in the dark.



The picture in the description is close to life-size. These things weigh almost nothing, and so are backpack-friendly. They are visible from a good 1000 feet away, line of sight. I'm buying more!

Not very bright for an LED. AND, guess what? This is about 2 1/2 inches long if it is standing on its tippy-toes!

Given the picture shows a spike on it, one could have the impression that it is big enough to spike into the ground and mark a trail or something... well, the spike is more like a thumbtack.

I realize the images are provided by the manufacturer, so I don't blame Amazon - but there is NO excuse for not accurately listing the actual size of this.

I had been wanting one of these for some time, when mine arrived I was pleased with the over all product. I use an expedition thermarest pad and it's very comfortable. I set it up the first time with no instructions. yeah it's that simple and fast.



At 6'4" I fit well inside, get something else if your any taller.



I will be buying two more for my kids.



Make sure that you air the new cot out before you sleep in it,the "new cot smell" is very toxic.



There's no reason to buy the extra rain fly or case, they come with the cot.

I just used my oversize Tent Cot for the first time and it performed beautifully. The first night, it rained for almost four hours and stayed bone dry with the rain fly on. On the second night, temperatures dipped down into the mid-40s and I stayed very warm with minimal cover. On the third night, it was in the mid-50s and I was so warm I didn't cover up with anything. When I woke up, it was about 60 degrees outside and I was sweating inside the tent cot since I had all of the doors shut.



I'm a big guy and slept great every night. I did add a 1.5 inch thick self-inflating sleeping pad, which I think is a must in order to get a good night's rest. The pre-installed pad is just too hard for my liking.



With all doors closed, the tent does not breathe very well, so condensation does occur on the inside on cool and cold nights. A couple hours with the doors rolled up takes care of this, though.



This was also the talk of camp. Everyone thought it was the coolest thing they had ever seen. A number of people said they would be purchasing one before our next trip in December.



I was very pleased with my first use of the oversize Tent Cot. It exceeded my expectations in all areas and I would recommend it to anyone that has room to transport it and isn't going to be carrying it far from their vehicle when camping.

This is a great product if you use it as a vehicle supported tent cot. My buddy and I ordered ours at the same time. We planned to put them up under a big enclosed awning. but the wind was so bad we couldn't get the awning up so we just camped in our tent cots. It was great! It wityhstood 30 mph gusts. There is a key/wallet/change pocket so they don't bounce around the cot. There was plenty of room for me, my next day's clothes a light and easy to get in and out of. Could sleep 2 if you really snuggle. BUT be wary. It does not stow down any smaller than the dimensions stated. I use a big truck and I bet it wouldn't stow in a compact trunk and would take up the whole back seat. It can be pretty airtight. I also used an additional camping pad to avoid the bend in the middle other reviews spoke of but I didn't have any problems at all and slept very, very comfortably. the only reason it doesn't rate 5 stars is the stowage size and I wish it had a strap inside for a light or camping fan. if it rains and you close allthe flaps it ill be pretty warm in the summer.

I got this tent cot for quick setup, comfort and ease for when I go on overnight paintball outings. In fact, it is very easy to setup and is quite comfortable. However, the one MAJOR design flaw is that it has no roof vent. I now know why ALL other tents have a roof vent, and that is so the tent can breath. Most of my outings are in the dead of winter, so when sleeping, condensation builds up on the inside roof of the tent. When you lift your head in the morning, your head gets soaked from the condensation build-up. I do have a rainfly, which further holds in the moisture. I would think putting a roof vent in would greatly reduce the condensation because any moisture that does rise, will rise out to the rainfly, which in turn has adequate ventilation due to the nature of the air gap between the ranfly and the tent cot. Other than that one flaw, this is a great product. I'm curious how hot it will be in the summer. Although, I'm inclined NOT to use the rainfly unless absolutely necessary in the summer. Even if I did use the rainfly in the summer, I'd probably have all the flaps open on the tent to allow airflow.

We purchased this as a spare for when we have friends/guests along when we camp. We really like it as it's easy to assemble and doesn't leak. Our first camp out with it we were at a music festival along the lakeshore and had high winds with heavy rains. Other tents were collapsing or blowing away around us, but this tent stayed put. We had replaced the stakes with iron sand spikes as we always do when we camp. We don't trust the tiny, thin aluminum(?) stakes that come with most tents. Otherwise a good tent.

Hi, Well every year me and my friends test and use loads of climbing and outdoor stuff. This tent along with a few from Bibler tent were the best we have used. Light well ventilated and well priced. To get a tent comparable you would need to pay another $100+ on something by bibler. The Climbing gear we like we list on our recomendation site and this one was top of the list http://all-rock-climbing-gear.com. For something comparable you would need to be looking at something like the bibler ahwahnee tent.

I gave this to my daughter for Christmas and she loves it. It is a quick solution to camping. Rather than have to pitch a big tent just for one night when visiting other campers it is easy to set this up and sleep in it. It is roomy and warm and very stable. It comes with a rain fly but I also bought the heavier duty rainfly that is sold separately because it is more waerproof and wind stable.

It transported quickly and easily with one person. Setup was a snap, requiring about two or three minutes by myself. Up, off the ground, dry and warm. Seals up nice and tight, especially with the optional rain fly. Got lots of looks and compliments on it's design by my fellow campers, who slept on the hard ground in their tents. I put a self inflating mattress in mine and life was good all night.



With all the zip down sides, this handy little tent will fit all my needs for winter through summer. It was a quality purchase and I'm glad I have it.



I especially recommend the oversized model for room to toss and turn. Pennies more to go first class!!!

 "Solid but a workout to assemble" 2010-05-03

When the box first arrived, I was surprised at the weight. I saw aluminum in the description but it looks like there's a fair amount of steel too because it weighed at least 45-50 pounds. Must be why it's solid.



It comes in a carrying case, which is nice. I'm not sure how long the thin strap will hold up under the weight but it's not bad.



Assembly is really why I'm writing this. It's a pain. Actually I found it impossible to follow the directions and get the poles to fully seat. The holes used by the vertical poles that go between the top and bottom bunks didn't align, and even trying to push all eight down a little bit at a time couldn't be done with WD-40 and my full weight. Also, one of the poles was pinched out-of-round, but 5 seconds with some pliers fixed that.



In the end, I assembled the bottom bunk, put the vertical poles into the horizontal top pieces, inserted the vertical poles in the bottom horizontal pieces, then put the top canvas on (with the tubes that run the length inserted in the canvas).



Once I figured out this sequence, it wasn't bad at all. They seem very solid, plenty long, and the kids love them.



I'd buy them again, but they'd be far more user-friendly if the pieces aligned properly.

I was disappointed that it had rust inside some of the rods and it was a little scratched up.

Plus it wasn't as easy to get together as claimed, but once it was together it was sturdy.
